How does zinc oxide protection work?

They act on the top layer of the skin - the epidermis - and their effect is shown by skin pigmentation or sunburn. Their effect is strongest between 10 am and 4 pm from April to October.

How do UVA rays affect the skin?

UVA rays penetrate the skin deeper and also affect the dermis, which is why they are a major player in skin ageing. They accelerate the breakdown of collagen fibres, stimulate the production of free radicals and thus speed up the ageing process. They are present every day, in all weather conditions, penetrating through clouds, water and glass and are responsible for 95% of UV radiation.

How does zinc oxide protect against UV rays?

Zinc oxide is a physical sunscreen that can help protect the skin against the sun's UVA and UVB rays. It works by forming a physical barrier to UV light and reflecting the sun's rays away from the skin. Zinc oxide works on the epidermis of the skin, creating the protection of preference when it comes to sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Aloe vera

Zinc oxide
Zinc oxide is acting as a physical shield. This all-natural mineral filter protects against UVA and UVB light. We use non-nano zinc oxide in our sunscreen, which means the particles aren’t small enough to be absorbed or to interfere with ocean life.

Lavender essential oil
Lavender essential oil is so called “mother of essential oils”. It is known for its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibacterial qualities. It stimulates the growth of new cells and is highly effective in helping calm and soothe irritation and redness.
