We’re entering week 4-5 of the Black Muffin grow, and things are looking green and healthy across the board! These weeks have been focused on training and prepping for the upcoming flower stage, keeping the canopy even and ensuring the plants don't outgrow their space.

Appearance

The Black Muffin plants are thriving, with rich, deep green leaves and sturdy stems. One plant, however, decided to take off and grow faster than the rest, so we had to top it to keep everything in check. The rest are maintaining a good, bushy structure, and the overall canopy is filling out nicely. The tent is now packed with vibrant foliage, creating a beautiful green jungle.

Grow Characteristics

As mentioned, one plant grew a bit too tall, so topping was necessary to keep everything even. We also put up a trellis net to spread the canopy and allow light to hit all the bud sites evenly. This should help to maximize yield and keep the plants from shading each other out. The branches are sturdy, and they’re responding well to the light training, bending and adjusting to fill the space without overcrowding. These girls are strong, with great node spacing and solid growth.

Expectations

We’re putting the plants into flower this week because, at this rate, they’ll outgrow the tent if we wait any longer! We’re expecting the typical stretch in the first couple of weeks of flowering, so it’s essential to stay ahead of that. The canopy looks even, the plants are strong, and with the trellis in place, we're anticipating good bud development with solid light penetration. Excited to see the buds start forming and the Black Muffin’s famous resinous, chunky flowers begin to take shape.
