Lemon Orange by Greenhouse Seeds co: Our Strain of the Shop

If you ever drop by the Amsterdam Seed Center, you might notice our strain of the shop. Every 12 to 14 weeks, we have the tough decision of which cannabis seeds to germinate for our new grow. We are spoiled rotten for choice because countless new cannabis strains are stocking our fridges.

Alas, we work our way through the last harvest and eventually pick a new strain of the shop. Next up and fresh from the Amsterdam Seed Center fridges is Lemon Orange brought to us by the legendary Greenhouse Seeds. Co
Lemon Orange - Greenhouse Seeds. Co

Lemon Orange is a citrusy Sativa lover's dream. A combination of the famous Super Lemon Haze and a Greenhouse-selected Clementine from Crockett's Family Farms, Lemon Orange could be the pinnacle of citrus cannabis strains. The citrus duo combine to give users a taste experience varying from fresh lemon to oranges with hints of earthy undertones.
Super Lemon Haze x Clementine

What makes Lemon Orange particularly interesting is that it was bred using a mostly Sativa Clementine cut selected from Crockett Family Farms and what is probably the world's most famous Sativa Super Lemon Haze. We all know the history of Super Lemon Haze and its medicinal benefits, but do you know that Clementine is one of the parents of notable strains such as Orange Pound Cake and Mimosa?

We don't know whether the Clementine phenotype that created those strains was the same one that bred Lemon Orange. However, Clementine is only available as Regular cannabis seeds, so there must be some unique phenotypes in the Crockett Family Farms.

Future award winner?

According to the breeder, the effect of Lemon Orange is super strong (29.5%) but well balanced with euphoric feelings and a long-lasting head buzz. Additionally, Greenhouse advises that you can expect high yield whether grown in or outdoors.

Lemon Orange is yet to win any awards because it hasn't entered any competitions, but if it is as good as Greenhouse says it is and so far it is looking good as our strain of the shop, then it won't be long before Greenhouse needs to clear space in the trophy cabinet.

Lemon Orange Grow reports

Early reports from master growers suggest that Lemon Orange will be a classic. One grower reported it was an energetic summery high and rated it 10 out of 10 for production and harvest. Another grower reported that the citrus flavour of this Sativa hybrid shines through and delivers an explosion of lemon and orange to the taste buds.
Lemon Orange - Strain of the Shop

At the time of writing, Lemon Orange was six weeks into its growth cycle. The seeds were transplanted into the soil once the root tap had sprouted. After around two weeks, the plants were in the full vegetation stage. We measured them at 34cm but expected them to stretch over the next few weeks.

We like our plants to be bushy, so they were topped and then switched to 12/12. Two weeks after the switch to 12/12, there was visible increased plant growth and pistil production. The plant currently (six weeks) measures 48cm - a 14cm stretch - so we have added a net to develop a more even canopy. We are expecting the plants to be ready to harvest after 11 -12 weeks. You can follow the progress of Lemon Orange on Instagram and check out the grow reports here.

So we don't quite have the finished article, but we are excited to see how this Lemon Orange turns out. Thankfully, some other growers have finished their first crop of Lemon Orange and have provided feedback.
